Educating We developed and distributed over 75,000 Year of Ageing Well calendars. 

Advocacy

We partnered to organize walkabouts in Antigonish, Sydney, Lunenberg and Halifax to advocate for needed changes in the built environment as a step to becoming age-friendly communities.

Capacity building We collaborated with others for Let’s Talk Pictou County and Let’s Talk Yarmouth to learn about the needs of area seniors.

Educating We provided falls prevention educaiton to over 900 students at eight NSCC cmapuses. Through falls prevention, an upstream cause of poor helaht can be addressed

Advocating:  We  partner with groups like Community Transportation NS and Community Wheels to increase awareness for seniors trsnsportation needs.  

Capacity Building We taught functional fitness leadership to over 200 serivce proviers in the Home Support Exercise Program 

Linking We linked with others to help establish a South Shore Helping Hands program in Caledonia, Queens County

Information exchange We produce a monthly e-bulletin and other items to help ensure that seniors in Nova Scotia are informed, respected and engaged in achieving well-being for themselves and their communities.
